Prior year returns with I-CAN!® E-File

Before you begin using I-CAN!® E-file for a prior year be aware of the following limitations:

  • You cannot efile prior year returns, you can only print and mail them.
  • I-CAN!® E-file is funded on an annual basis, and based on funding features, types of returns, states supported, and complexity of returns will vary. You must read the limitations at the beginning of each year very carefully to ensure you can use them.
  • Due to funding limitations chat support is not available for prior year filings, and email support is limited ONLY for software problems, not tax information or assistance.

You cannot use I-CAN!® E-file to file your State return by itself; you can do your Federal and State returns together or your Federal return by itself.
