Navigating YES I-CAN!® E- File

YES I-CAN!® E- File will ask you questions to fill out your tax forms and determine which credits your are eligible for. Just answer the simple questions on each page.

To maximize the page on your screen press the "F11" key on your keyboard.

If you make a mistake, go back to the screen where you made a mistake and change your answer. Click "Back" on your screen until you find the page where you made the mistake. Or, if you know the mistake was in a certain section, such as "Dependents", select the tab at the top of the page and click "Next" or press the "Enter" key until you find the screen. After you change your answer, click "Next" or press the "Enter" key and you will move forward through YES I-CAN!® E- File.

YES I-CAN!® E- File will ask you different questions based on your answers, so when you change an answer, you are sometimes asked additional questions. For example if you answer that you are Single, then go back and answer Married, a screen will ask for your spouse's name.

If you have more than one dependent, you will be asked to enter the information for one at a time. When you reach the end of the questions about each dependent, you will be able to review your answers about any dependent you entered so far. The same applies if you have more than one W-2 or 1099 form.

You may round to the nearest dollar on any amounts you enter into YES I-CAN!® E- File.

Username and Password

YES I-CAN!® E- File will ask you to create a Username and Password. This information will allow you access to YES I-CAN!® E- File. You will need this information:

  • If you need to return to finish entering in your information,
  • If you need to re-print any forms,
  • When you check the status of your tax return,
  • If you need to change any of your information on your tax return,
  • To resubmit your return (e-file) to the IRS or your state if your return is rejected because of errors
In the event of a power outage, Internet connection loss, or similar technical difficulty, your information is saved.

Browser

YES I-CAN!® E- File works on most recent versisons of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Safari. If you use a different browser important functions of the application may not work properly, including printing your forms and accessing chat support.

Forms not printing?

To use YES I-CAN!® E- File you need to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer. Adobe Reader is a free program and you can download it and install it in a few minutes.
